Senator Raffy Tulfo on Saturday vowed to hold a dialogue with the Catholic Church to support his proposal to legalize divorce in the Philippines.,Tulfo called on Cardinal-Bishop Luis Antonio Tagle, Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula, and Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines President Bishop Pablo Virgilio David to back the passage of divorce in the country.,“I am ready to sit down for a dialogue with the Catholic Church if they would allow me to explain my proposed measure Divorce Law,” Tulfo said.,“I am taking a new approach towards finally giving distressed Filipino married couples the recourse of absolute divorce,” Tulfo added.,Tulfo added that he has encountered “countless couples” whose marriages can no longer be saved and want to seek an annulment but cannot afford to do so.,“Our stand on divorce, annulment, separation, and domestic violence are well-informed by years of first-hand experiences on complaints and situations of distressed families,” Tulfo noted.
